HISTORY OF

The Beretta 92 is a series of semi-automatic pistols designed and manufactured by Beretta of Italy, first introduced in 1975. It's renowned for its adoption as the standard sidearm of the United States armed forces in 1985 as the M9. The 92 series evolved from earlier Beretta designs, incorporating features from the Walther P38 and incorporating a double-stack magazine.

Model 92FS (1989-present):
The 92FS is an improved version of the 92F, addressing some issues identified during military testing. It is the current standard model in the series.
