HISTORY OF

The 1911 is a historic semi-automatic pistol designed by John Browning in the early 20th century. It's chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge and has been in service since, well, 1911. This iconic pistol has a distinctive design with a single-stack magazine and a short-recoil system. It served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States military for several decades.
